Pentecost is the birthday of the Christian church
~Next Sunday, June 4 – Communion Sunday
TITHES & OFFERING: Please devote yourself to giving in FOUR ways:
1)On-line: through PayPal. This can be found on www.woodbridgemethodist.org
2) Venmo: search for @woodbridge, select “Pay or Request,” and enter offering amount.
3) Check: place in offering plate or send to Woodbridge UMC via mail.
4) Cash: place offering envelope in offering plate or in mail slot at parking lot side door.
TODAY’S SERVICE: We would like to welcome and thank Rev. Gerald Muller for delivering God’s word to us today in the Sermon, and to everyone who participated in today’s Service.
NEW PASTOR: Our new Pastor, Reverend Eusun Kim and family: wife-Jay, daughters- Sofia and Gabrielle, will be joining us from July 1. We look forward to having them become part of our church family. Our Welcome celebration will be held with our annual church picnic in September.
INTERIM MINISTERS: Through June 25 there will be interim ministers for our Sunday Worship services.
MISSION FUND: Sunday School is collecting money for a Mission Fund. The containers are located at both entrances. Please support the Sunday School Mission Fund with a donation.
FOOD PANTRY: Prayer Group and church will give a donation each month to help those in need during these difficult times to St. James Food Pantry. You can help, please give a donation with your on-line offering, and designate it as “Food Pantry,” or send it to the office. Received a letter of thanks from St. James for the last donation of $325 to help those in need.
BIBLE READING CLUB: Please pray about finding the time to share with God. Join the Bible Club, no classes are necessary. Each week’s reading schedule will be listed in announcements.
ALTAR FLOWERS: This is a special way to honor or remember a loved one. Cost is $25. Sign-up sheet in hallway or call the office. Any questions, please see Janet Ciravolo.
MEMORIAL DAY PRAYER
Leader: Almighty God, before whom stand the living and the dead,
we your children, whose mortal life is but a hand’s breadth,
give thanks to you: For all those through whom you have
blessed our pilgrimage, whose lives that have empowered us,
whose influence is a healing grace,
ALL: We lift up thankful hearts.
Leader: For the dear friends and family members whose faces we see
no more, but whose Love is with us forever –
ALL: We lift up thankful hearts.
Leader: For the teachers and companions of our childhood and youth,
and for the members of our household of faith who worship
you now in heaven,
ALL: We lift up thankful hearts.
Leader: For those who sacrificed themselves, our brothers and sisters
who have given their lives for the sake of others,
ALL: We lift up thankful hearts.
Leader: That we may hold them all in continual remembrance, and
Even think of them as with You in that city whose gates are
not shut by day and where there is no night,
ALL: We lift up thankful hearts.
Leader: Even as we remember those who have given their lives in the
past, we also think of those whose lives are on the line today.
Protect them. Encourage them. Bring them home safely.
O Lord, save your people and bless your heritage. Day by day
we magnify you, and worship your name, forever and ever.
